Traffic: What to Expect
During the G7 period, traffic around the airport and on the main access routes may be heavily disrupted. Significant slowdowns are to be expected.
It is recommended to prioritise public transport and to check, before travelling, the traffic updates and timetable information published by TPG and CFF.
Enhanced Control Measures
During the G7 period, traffic disruptions are expected on the main routes leading to the airport, particularly via the city centre, border posts and certain access roads.
From 12 to 18 June included, only seven border crossings will remain open: Anières, Moillesulaz, Thônex‑Vallard, Bardonnex, Perly, Meyrin and Ferney‑Voltaire. Systematic and reinforced controls will be carried out day and night at these points, with longer waiting times to be expected.
All other crossing points will be closed. Crossing the border outside these authorised posts will not be permitted, including on foot or by bicycle.
Travel Time
During the G7 period, traffic conditions may increase the time needed to reach the airport. To ensure a smoother journey, it is recommended to plan your departure in advance and allow sufficient extra time for travel.
Access Information and Updates
Road access to the airport will remain open during the G7 period. However, traffic disruptions and longer travel times may occur, particularly on certain routes and at border crossings.
Passengers and visitors are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and to check updated information regularly in order to prepare their trip under the best possible conditions.
