Updates for Airport Teams and Partner Stakeholders

From 13 to 19 June 2026, Geneva Airport will implement exceptional arrangements for the G7. During this period, certain areas will be temporarily closed and enhanced security measures will apply across the airport.

This section brings together the essential information for employees, partners, and service providers required to operate on site.

Adaptation devices on the platform

Temporary closures and changes

During the G7 summit, certain areas of the airport will be temporarily closed or reorganised to meet the needs of the event.

Enhanced security measures

As part of the security measures put in place, an increased security presence will be visible on the airport grounds, including armed military personnel, in coordination with the relevant authorities and security teams.

Car parks

From 14 to 18 June, car parks P45, P46 and P50 will be closed as part of the security arrangements put in place for the G7.

Affected staff will receive further information regarding alternative parking options available during this period.

Terraces temporarily closed

From 14 to 18 June, the following areas will be inaccessible:

  • the Panorama Terrace
  • the North Area Terrace
  • the Chef’s Terrace

Changes in the terminals

Temporary arrangements may be put in place in the terminals. Certain areas may therefore be reorganised or subject to restricted access during this period.

Logistics sector

As part of the exceptional security measures linked to the G7, enhanced security measures will be put in place. These may result in temporary changes in certain logistics areas of the airport.

From Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 June 2026, parking restrictions will apply in the western logistics area. Access to car park P44 may also be temporarily restricted.

Depending on security requirements, certain areas of the western logistics sector may be subject to temporary closures. The vehicles concerned will then be redirected to car park P43, pending the reopening of the area.

RFS lorries must position themselves at the rear of car park P43, so as not to obstruct the relevant operational access points (ABT / ABT2).

The companies concerned are asked to inform their staff, customers and hauliers, and to anticipate any potential disruption. Where possible, working from home is recommended.

For security reasons, taking photographs or videos of G7-related facilities and operations is strictly prohibited. Windows on the north and west facades of the building must also remain closed for the duration of the operations.

Operational Guidelines for Staff

Coming to Work at the Airport During the G7

During the G7 period, access to the airport platform may be more restricted than usual. Traffic disruptions are expected on certain routes, in the city centre, and at border crossings. Teams, partners and service providers are therefore encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, allow sufficient extra time, and, whenever possible, prioritise public transport.

From 12 to 18 June inclusive, only seven border crossings will remain open: Anières, Moillesulaz, Thônex‑Vallard, Bardonnex, Perly, Meyrin and Ferney‑Voltaire. Reinforced controls will be applied continuously at these points, with longer waiting times to be expected. All other crossing points will be closed. Outside these authorised posts, crossing the border will not be permitted, including on foot or by bicycle.

Some TPG lines, particularly cross‑border routes, may also be subject to temporary adjustments. Before travelling, those concerned are invited to consult the updated information provided by TPG, CFF, as well as the instructions communicated by their employer or organisation.

A special pass system is planned for certain essential staff members in order to facilitate border crossings, in particular through adapted traffic arrangements at certain border crossing points. This system is not intended for the general public.

The pass is designed to facilitate border crossings at certain points, in particular Bardonnex and Thônex-Vallard. Specific openings of three secondary customs posts are also planned for pass holders during defined time slots, in order to facilitate travel linked to critical activities.

The passes are personal, non-transferable and subject to checks. They are valid from 12 June at 00:01 until 18 June at 23:59. Their use must strictly comply with the conditions set by the authorities.

The persons concerned are invited to refer to the information provided by their employer or organisation. The conditions for obtaining a vehicle access permit are determined by the competent authorities.

When on‑site presence is not essential, remote work is recommended in order to reduce travel constraints during this period.
